Group One Career Details

Let us tell you about Real Estate Enterprises, Inc., Group One Real Estate, and the opportunities available to you here. This will serve as an overview to familiarize you with Group One Real Estate.

Company Background

The firm began in 1971 and was known as The Carriage Co. Our primary business at that time was working with a builder on new  construction. We soon branched out into existing home sales and over the years have grown to be one of the city's largest independent real estate firms. In 1975 we bought out and merged with two other firms and  changed the name of the company to Group One Real Estate. In 1976 we built and moved into our current excellent location just a step away from Everhart at Corona, the HUB of the Southside.

Company Vision

Let's take a look at the real estate business comparing yesterday, today and tomorrow. Yesterday's business was a local business. Many  small, neighborhood offices with sales forces dominated by women working part time and men retired from other professions or occupations.

Companies with a national and international outlook - and full-time professionals servicing customer and clients drive today’s business.  It is necessary to utilize technology and creativity since today's consumers demand a higher level of customer satisfaction and our emphasis is to become our customer's "REALTOR FOR LIFE".

Businesses that will survive in the 2000's and excel in the years beyond, will be those businesses that MASTER change.

We expect the real estate industry to change more in the next three years than it did in the last 30. We are in the information age and  we're information providers like never before. This requires constant expanding and upgrading of our computer systems in our office. The Association of Realtors is converting to an Internet based Multiple Listing System and most of our agents have computers at home. We are truly in the information age in real estate...as you can see, since you are visiting our web site.

During the 80s, I'm sure you heard how bad real estate was. However, the years of 85 to 90 Group One grew and prospered. 1992 we made major decisions concerning future growth and expansion.

  • We created a new commercial division and while handling RTC properties maintained an office in Dallas for that purpose.
  • We expanded our property management division and currently manage over 100 residence rentals for individuals.
  • We added Association Management and have managed three homeowner associations.
  • We expanded our Relocation business by joining RELO. RELO is the largest independent relocation network in the U.S.

Company Goal

Our goal has always been to be on the cutting edge and to change as the market changes. We were the first real estate company in Corpus  Christi to create an in-house training program in 1971 that continues today.

It is our goal to be the number one independent real estate company in the Corpus Christi area - not necessarily in the number of offices or Sales Executives - but in productivity and profits ...for the company and for our Sales Executives. For that, we need a strong team.

That's where you come in ...Contact us to review our Mission Statement and our Goals, outline your own goals and see if we might grow and be successful together.

Once you make this commitment, and have obtained the classes necessary to obtain your license, the next requirement is a commitment to  our in-house training program. We provide staff for ongoing consultation and assistance in mentoring for success.

Licensing Requirements

1) The State of Texas requires a real estate license to be obtained by passing 180 classroom hours, 90 of which must be core Real Estate Courses. (NOTE: This requirement changes in January of 2002.) You may have college credit hours in business or related classes that will be acceptable to the State. Once educational requirements are complete, you  must pass a State Board Examination. Therefore, to enter the field of real estate requires a sincere commitment on your part to:

          1) invest time in classes and study
          2) invest your dollars.

As a Realtor with Group One you are a BUSINESS, an Independent Contractor working for yourself. Real estate offers much opportunity for those with the self-motivation and drive necessary. We invite you to consider joining in success at Group One Real Estate
